Tystnad
Vi är med i en grupp där vi samtalar om de ledord som förknippas med pilgrimsvandring. Denna gången var det ordet ”Tystnad”. Vi reflekterade över att tystnad har både en positiv och en negativ klang.
Positiv tystnad är medveten tystnad där man stänger av allt brus som finns runt omkring som ständigt pockar på vår uppmärksamhet. Telefon, media, dösnack och annat. Att man hittar en lugn avskild plats där man hör fågelsången, bäcken som porlar, vinden som susar. Kanske man då även kan höra Gud tala, något han gjort hela tiden, men som man inte uppfattat på grund av allt brus runt omkring.
Negativ tystnad är påtvingad tystnad. I Sverige har vi bland annat en tystnadskultur då det gäller gudstro. Gudstro får man ha privat men inte ta med sig in i det offentliga rummet. Denna trend bör vi bryta, menar jag. Vad är viktigare än att tala om livets mening och vad som händer efter döden. Vi får ha respekt för varandra och att andra tycker annorlunda.
Åsikts- och yttrandefrihet är nödvändigt för att skapa ett gott samhälle, men många är de, på olika håll i världen, som fängslas och beläggs med munkavle för sina åsikters skull.
För ca tvåtusen år sedan försökte man tysta en ung judisk rabbin i Jerusalem. Man fängslade, piskade och korsfäste honom. Men man misslyckades totalt med att tysta honom. Gud uppväckte honom från de döda, kan vi läsa om i Bibeln. (Det fanns ögonvittnen). I dag har han mer än två miljarder följare utöver vår jord. Jag är en av dem.

Silence
We are part of a group where we discuss the key concepts associated with pilgrimage. This time, the word was “Silence.” We reflected on how silence has both positive and negative connotations.
Positive silence is conscious silence, where you shut out all the noise around you that constantly demands our attention – phones, media, idle chatter, and more. It’s about finding a quiet, secluded spot where you can hear birds singing, a stream babbling, and the wind rustling. Perhaps then you can even hear God speak, something He has been doing all along, but which you haven’t perceived because of all the noise around you.
Negative silence is imposed silence. In Sweden, we have, among other things, a culture of silence when it comes to faith in God. You are allowed to have faith in God privately but not bring it into the public sphere. We should break this trend, I believe. What is more important than talking about the meaning of life and what happens after death? We must respect one another and the fact that others think differently.
Freedom of opinion and expression is necessary to create a good society, but there are many, in various parts of the world, who are imprisoned and silenced for their views.
About two thousand years ago, attempts were made to silence a young Jewish rabbi in Jerusalem. He was imprisoned, flogged, and crucified. But they failed completely to silence him. God raised him from the dead, as we read in the Bible. (There were eyewitnesses.) Today, he has more than two billion followers across the globe. I am one of them.
