Gud har en underbar framtid för judarna
Gud har slutit ett nytt förbund med Israels hus och Juda hus:
Jer 31:31f Se, dagar ska komma, säger Herren, då jag sluter ett nytt förbund med Israels hus och med Juda hus, inte som förbundet jag slöt med deras fäder…
Detta bibelsammanhang citeras i Hebr 8:8f och 10:16f som en profetia om det nya förbundet genom Kristi blod (jfr Luk 22:20). Samtidigt sägs att det gamla förbundet är föråldrat.
Heb 8:13 När han talar om ett nytt förbund, har han därmed förklarat det förra föråldrat. Och det som blir gammalt och föråldrat är på väg att försvinna.
Det gamla förbundet, det som Gud upprättade genom Moses på berget Sinai var villkorat:
2 Mos 19:5-6 Om ni nu hör min röst och håller mitt förbund, ska ni av alla folk vara min dyrbara egendom, för hela jorden är min. Ni ska för mig vara ett rike av präster och ett heligt folk. Detta är vad du ska tala till Israels barn.”
”Om ni nu hör min röst och håller mitt förbund”! Israel som Guds egendomsfolk under Gamla förbundets tid var villkorat och betingat av att de hörde Guds röst och höll hans förbund, inte på etnicitet.
Detta bibelsammanhang har fått en ny betydelse i Nya testamentet. ”Ett rike av präster och ett heligt folk” citeras i 1 Petr 2:9, Upp 1:6, 5:10, och syftar där på alla som tror på, och följer, Jesus, Messias.
Det nya förbundet i Jesus, Messias innebär en underbar framtid för juden, men också för greken som Paulus säger.
Rom 1:16 Jag skäms inte för evangeliet. Det är en Guds kraft till frälsning för var och en som tror, juden först men också greken.
I Efesierbrevet förklarar Paulus att Gud i det nya förbundet bygger samman judar och hedningar till ett heligt tempel där han ska bo. Jesus sa att templet i Jerusalem på hans tid skulle rivas ner, men att han skulle resa upp ett nytt tempel på tre dagar. Detta nya tempel är han själv och de som följer honom.
Ef 2:19-22 Därför är ni inte längre gäster och främlingar, utan medborgare med de heliga och medlemmar i Guds familj. Ni är uppbyggda på apostlarnas och profeternas grund, där hörnstenen är Kristus Jesus själv. I honom fogas hela byggnaden samman och växer upp till ett heligt tempel i Herren, och i honom blir också ni sammanbyggda till en boning åt Gud genom Anden.
Gud bryr sig om alla människor oavsett etnicitet, social ställning eller kön.
Gal 3:28 Här är inte jude eller grek, slav eller fri, man och kvinna. Alla är ni ett i Kristus Jesus.
Detta talar om en underbar framtid för både judar och hedningar.

God has made a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah:
Jeremiah 31:31f Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, not like the covenant I made with their fathers…
This biblical context is quoted in Hebrews 8:8f and 10:16f as a prophecy about the new covenant through the blood of Christ (cf. Luke 22:20). At the same time, it is said that the old covenant is obsolete.
Hebrews 8:13 In speaking of a new covenant, he has made the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.
The old covenant, which God established through Moses on Mount Sinai, was conditional:
Exodus 19:5-6Now if you will listen to my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine. You shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. This is what you are to say to the Israelites.
“If you obey me and keep my covenant”! Israel as God’s chosen people during the time of the Old Covenant was conditional and contingent upon their hearing God’s voice and keeping his covenant, not on ethnicity.
This biblical context has taken on a new meaning in the New Testament. “A kingdom of priests and a holy nation” is quoted in 1 Peter 2:9, Revelation 1:6, 5:10, and refers to all who believe in and follow Jesus, the Messiah.
The new covenant in Jesus, the Messiah, means a wonderful future for the Jews, but also for the Greeks, as Paul says.
Romans 1:16 I am not ashamed of the gospel. It is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, but also to the Greek.
In Ephesians, Paul explains that in the new covenant, God brings Jews and Gentiles together into a holy temple where he will dwell. Jesus said that the temple in Jerusalem in his time would be torn down, but that he would raise up a new temple in three days. This new temple is himself and those who follow him.
Eph 2:19-22 Therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of God’s household. You are built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord, and in him you too are being built together into a dwelling place for God through the Spirit.
God cares for all people regardless of ethnicity, social status, or gender.
Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female. You are all one in Christ Jesus.
This speaks of a wonderful future for both Jews and Gentiles.
